In the mid 1970s Chas Hodges and Dave Peacock laid down the backing track on a tune called ‘I Got The…’ by black London poet/singer Labi Siffre. This tune was sampled by a certain Detroit rapper on his break-through single. You guessed it, ‘My Name Is’ by Eminem, that’s Chas n Dave you can hear.
